BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Veterinary Assistant to join our Surgery Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Place peripheral intravenous catheters in the cephalic vein.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital parameters, alerting doctors to abnormalities.
• Set up and administer intravenous fluids, including troubleshooting errors with fluid pumps.
• Monitor patient response to fluid therapy, including signs of overload.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in a veterinary hospital preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work rotating on-call schedule post-training.
