Boston Veterinary Clinic in Charlestown, MA is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited, Fear Free-certified team. Experience with animals is required, and we offer a collaborative environment with opportunities to grow in veterinary medicine.
You'll work with a dedicated team across diagnostic tools and routine care, including dentistry, surgery, and sick pet visits, with four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts and rotating Saturdays. Sundays off.

At the Charlestown location, you will be engaged in a high quality of medicine environment covering complete care, puppies and kittens, and essential preventative services. The clinic is equipped to handle complex cases, offering advanced services including comprehensive Dentistry and Surgery. You will also play a crucial role in providing Sick and Urgent Pet Care, utilizing the latest medical guidelines to ensure every pet receives the best possible outcomes. This focus on sophisticated medical services ensures your skills will constantly be challenged and developed. The Boston Veterinary Clinic is situated in the historic and vibrant city of Boston, Massachusetts, specifically at 50 Hood Park Drive in the Charlestown neighborhood. This location offers you access to one of the most dynamic communities in the region. Compensation: $20-$28/hour (Compensation within the posted range will be commensurate with experience, credentials, and skill level.)
Boston Veterinary Clinic in Charlestown is growing! We're excited to be adding a third veterinarian to our team and are looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join us. Experience with animals is required, but we're happy to train the right candidate who is eager to learn and build a career in veterinary medicine.
Boston Veterinary Clinic is a modern, AAHA Accredited, Fear Free Certified® small animal hospital that has been providing exceptional care to the Charlestown community since 2014. We combine progressive medicine with a compassionate, low-stress approach for both our patients and our team.
- Competitive pay: $20 - $28/hour

- Provide Essential Patient Care: You’ll be a key player in the health of our patients, assisting the medical team with hands‑on care and ensuring every animal is treated with compassion and respect.
- Be the Go‑To Support for the Medical Team: You’ll be the backbone of the clinic, anticipating the needs of veterinarians and technicians to ensure a smooth, efficient, and collaborative workflow.
- Create a Positive Client Experience: You’ll help create a seamless visit for our clients by assisting with scheduling, payments, and communications, always with a courteous and informative approach.
- Ensure a Safe and Clean Environment: You’ll take pride in maintaining the hospital, performing clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold our high standards of care.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast‑paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
- Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
