Fairview Animal Hospital, a well-established small animal practice in Ellenwood, GA, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant. The role covers patient restraint, triage, lab sample collection, imaging, and nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.

Qualifications include at least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience, strong communication, calm teamwork, and the ability to restrain pets. Opportunities for training and development are provided in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans to clients.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors/noises and work in a clinical setting.

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.

• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!

Schedule: Full-time| Monday-Friday, closed weekends
