Job summary

Fairview Animal Hospital in Ellenwood, Georgia is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. You will help with restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, nursing care, and client communication while supporting ongoing training and development.

The role offers strong teamwork, exposure to a full-service hospital, and opportunities for advancement as you gain skills in anesthesia monitoring and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred (1+ year).
• Compassionate, calm, and strong communicator with good team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets for exams and procedures.
• Triage and assist with lab sample collection and analysis.
• Assist with diagnostics imaging, including radiographs.
• Support nursing care and medical/hospitalized cases.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia as needed.

Fairview Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive, small animalpractice located in Ellenwood, Georgia. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients includingPreventative Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Laser Therapy, In-House Diagnostics, High SpeedDentistry, Digital full body and dental radiology, Ultrasonography, and Vacation Boarding.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
