Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and associates while maintaining the continuity of quality veterinary care.

You will assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in care activities, help maintain patient flow, communicate with vets and clients, and educate clients about wellness plans and preventive care.

Qualifications

  • NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program certificate or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must perform NAVTA program skills at a level that aids efficiency.

Job Summary

The Veterinary Assistant is a key member of the hospital team who supports the veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and associates while maintaining the continuity of quality veterinary care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in all care activities.
  • Help maintain flow of patients through the facility.
  • Communicate effectively with the veterinarian, vet techs and clients.

Qualifications
  • Preferred: Certificate of completion from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to perform all required skills of a NAVTA‑approved program at a level that aids in the efficiency of the practice.
Preferred Education & Licenses
  • Certificate from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience performing veterinary assistant duties at a level that enhances practice efficiency.
