Rowan University’s Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine in Glassboro, NJ seeks an experienced Veterinary Anesthesiologist to join the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Both full-time and part-time appointments are considered to support a clinical, academic, or blended role.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
• Completion of a veterinary anesthesia and analgesia residency or comparable specialty training program.
• Board certification or board eligibility through ACVAA.
• Eligibility for veterinary licensure in New Jersey.
• Demonstrated expertise in veterinary anesthesia, analgesia, and perioperative patient management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary specialty hospital.
• Strong interest in clinical teaching and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia, analgesia, and perioperative care for patients across hospital services.
• Perform preanesthetic evaluations, develop individualized anesthetic plans, and oversee advanced physiologic monitoring and recovery.
• Provide consultation for acute and chronic pain management.
• Support anesthetic care for routine, complex, and high-risk procedures.
• Collaborate with primary care and specialty clinicians to provide integrated patient care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate anesthesia, analgesia, patient-safety, and perioperative protocols.
• Participate in clinical teaching and mentorship of veterinary students, interns, residents, and veterinary technology students.
• Contribute to anesthesia curriculum development, simulation, clinical skills instruction, and assessment.
