Job summary

Rowan University’s Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine in Glassboro, NJ invites applications for an experienced Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join our growing Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in a full-time or part-time academic role.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive ophthalmology services, participate in teaching veterinary students and residents, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Completion of ophthalmology training program required.
• Board certification or eligibility through ACVO required.
• Eligibility for veterinary licensure in New Jersey required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to education.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive ophthalmology consultation and treatment for companion animal patients.
• Perform advanced ophthalmic diagnostics and procedures.
• Collaborate with primary care and specialty clinicians to provide integrated patient care.
• Support communication and relationships with referring veterinarians.
• Participate in teaching and mentorship of veterinary students, interns, residents, and veterinary technology students.
• Contribute to ophthalmology curriculum development and clinical skills training.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and service development.
