Job summary

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists in Buzzards Bay, MA, is seeking an experienced anesthesia nurse to join a multidisciplinary anesthesia team. The role focuses on anesthesia for surgery, CT, endoscopy, and ultrasound-guided procedures within a brand-new schedule-friendly environment.

You’ll work with our anesthesiologist and specialty teams, contribute clinical observations, discuss plans, train others, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• At least one year of anesthesia, surgery, or inpatient nursing experience.
• Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and analgesia knowledge.
• Ability to obtain CVT/RVT/LVT credentials within six months if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for anesthesia and provide induction, monitoring, and recovery under veterinary direction.
• Recognize changes in patient status, communicate concerns, and respond appropriately.
• Support pain management and patient comfort throughout procedures.
• Prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot anesthesia and monitoring equipment.
• Coordinate procedures and patient handoffs with doctors and nursing teams.
• Maintain accurate anesthetic records and patient documentation.
• Adjust to changing caseloads and assist departments as needed.
• Help train and support team members.
