Job summary

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists in Buzzards Bay and Dennis, MA, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Anesthesia Nurse to join our Surgery team, caring for surgical patients from drop-off through anesthesia and recovery. You’ll collaborate with surgeons and the anesthesiologist, develop individualized plans, monitor anesthesia, and support client communication.

This full-time position offers four 10-hour shifts, on-call as needed, and a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in anesthesia, surgery, or inpatient nursing.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and ensure patient safety.
• Clinical judgment to recognize and respond to complications.
• Clear, respectful client and team communication.
• Willingness to work at both Buzzards Bay and Dennis locations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome surgical patients, review histories, and relay info to the medical team.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for surgery and anesthesia.
• Carry out individualized anesthetic plans with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
• Induction, monitoring, and recovery under veterinary direction.
• Maintain anesthetic records and patient documentation.
• Provide client updates and discharge instructions.
• Coordinate handoffs and train team members.
