Job Description: Veterinary Account Executive

Location Requirement: Candidates must reside within the geographic area of New York City or Long Island, New York.

Primary Responsibilities: The Veterinary Account Executive (AE) is responsible for identifying opportunities within the veterinary marketplace, developing and managing a pipeline of prospects, and driving the adoption of Covetrus VetSuite. The role involves designing go-to-market strategies to optimize adoption across the enterprise and engaging with veterinary practices to promote the value of Covetrus VetSuite.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to identify target practices/clinics and initiate contact with decision-makers.
  2. Manage the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals and follow-up activities.
  3. Create tailored sales plans for each target customer, understanding their objectives and current solutions.
  4. Build strong relationships with organizational stakeholders, understanding their drivers and needs.
  5. Prioritize customers based on potential and collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop demand-driving strategies.
  6. Coordinate with Product & Marketing teams to align commercial strategies with operational needs.
  7. Work with Account Managers and Service Operations to understand customer pain points and opportunities.
  8. Leverage cross-functional teams to support deal closure.
  9. Provide support in deals, planning, relationship management, and analysis.
  10. Perform additional duties as necessary to support team and company objectives.

Performance Measures:

  • Number of VetSuite contracts signed
  • Gross profit/revenue from VetSuite contracts
  • Revenue and profit from new point solutions
  • Number of opportunities closed-won

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or animal health science
  • Minimum 7+ years relevant experience, with 5+ years in a quota-carrying sales role within animal health technology
  • Proven ability to generate leads and a hunter mentality
  • Track record of exceeding sales quotas and industry reputation
  • Experience with objection handling and customer problem-solving

Work Environment:

  • Travel up to 65-70% for field visits, meetings, and training
  • Attendance at national and regional sales meetings
  • Occasional night/weekend travel; valid driver’s license required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Sales Professional)
  • Experience in sales pipeline management and forecasting

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $83,790.00 - $119,700.00, with eligibility for variable incentives based on performance. Benefits include 401k with company match, paid time off, holidays, parental and military leave, health benefits, flexible spending accounts, life & disability benefits, pet insurance, and potential short-term incentive plans.
