Veterinary Account Executive
The primary responsibility of the Account Executive (AE) is to identify opportunities within the veterinary marketplace and develop and manage a pipeline of prospects to drive the adoption of Covetrus VetSuite. This role will be responsible for designing go-to-market strategies to optimize the adoption of Covetrus VetSuite across the enterprise and fully engage with veterinary practices to promote the value of Covetrus VetSuite.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to identify target practices/clinics and initiate contact with decision-makers.
- Manage the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals and follow-up activities.
- Create tailored sales plans for each target customer, focusing on buyer objectives and current product utilization.
- Build strong client relationships with various organizational stakeholders by understanding their drivers.
- Prioritize customers based on potential and strategic value.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop sales strategies that increase market share.
- Align commercial strategies with operational needs through communication with Product & Marketing teams.
- Work with Account Managers and Service Operations to understand customer needs and identify opportunities.
- Leverage cross-functional teams to close deals effectively.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support team and company objectives.
Performance Metrics:
- Number of VetSuite contracts signed
- Gross profit/revenue from VetSuite contracts
- Revenue and gross profit from new point solutions
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or animal health science.
- Minimum of 7+ years relevant experience, including 5+ years in quota-carrying sales within animal health technology.
- Proven ability to generate leads independently and exceed sales quotas.
- Strong industry reputation and experience in objection handling.
- Ability to follow through on customer issues and problems.

- Adaptability and drive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Proven sales performance with a goal to reach quota within 90 days.

- Ability to handle objections and establish executive sponsorship.
- Willingness to travel up to 65-70% for field visits, meetings, and training, including occasional night and weekend travel.
- Valid state driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Sales Professional).
- Experience managing sales pipelines and forecasting.
