Job summary

VCA Seaside Animal Hospital in Medford, Oregon, is seeking a veterinarian to join our small animal practice. We see dogs, cats and exotic species (exotics optional). We are willing to train and mentor a new graduate, and the position is available for immediate hire.

This is a full-time role with 10-hour shifts, four days a week, day shifts, no weekends or overnight duties. Pay ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 per year base salary with a production bonus paid each pay period.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited veterinary medical school.
  • Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Oregon.
  • Strong knowledge of animal pathophysiology, anatomy and disease processes, veterinary terminology, and laboratory procedures.
  • Experience in animal restraint, handling, and care.
  • Excellent communication skills with pet owners and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in animals.
  • Perform surgeries and other medical procedures as needed.
  • Conduct physical examinations and administer vaccinations.
  • Provide preventative care, including dental cleanings and parasite control.
  • Educate pet owners on proper nutrition, behavior, and overall pet care.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care for animals.
  • Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
