Job description

Location Portland, United States Sector Other Salary $130,000.00 to $150,000.00 per annum

We are working on behalf of a well-established, privately owned small animal hospital in the Portland, OR area that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its team on a part-time basis.

For the past year and a half, the practice has been run solo by the owner veterinarian after their long-term associate relocated from the area, and they are now ready to bring in another doctor to share the caseload and restore balance.

The clinic sits in a unique pocket of the city and attracts a highly engaged, educated client base who value thorough diagnostic workups and are willing to invest in quality medicine.

The hospital provides comprehensive general practice care with a strong emphasis on advanced dentistry and standard soft tissue surgery.

If surgery is a key interest for you, there is plenty of room to take on more. Appointments are deliberately scheduled for 40 minutes so every pet receives a detailed, thoughtful workup rather than a rushed visit.

This role runs 1 to 2.5 days per week, with optional flexibility up to 2.5 days including an every other Saturday half day, and there is genuine openness to discussing schedule and compensation structure at interview.

About You:

• DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
• You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in Oregon
• Confident performing comprehensive, detail-oriented medical workups rather than quick exams
• Comfortable working semi-independently within a small, tight-knit team
• Able to produce at a solid level, or keen to grow your efficiency and diagnostic skills with support
