Job summary

Akicita Federal seeks a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging for veterans at the VA New Jersey Health Care System's Toms River Community-Based Outpatient Clinic. You will be integral to the care team, delivering timely, accurate radiologic exams to support diagnosis and treatment.

Qualifications

• Prior VA or federal healthcare experience preferred.
• Familiarity with VA EHR systems (VistA/CPRS) preferred.
• Experience serving veterans or military patient populations.
• ARRT certifications or advanced modalities encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations for veteran patients at the Toms River CBOC.
• Operate and maintain radiologic equipment according to safety and quality standards.
• Position patients correctly and adapt techniques for mobility limitations.
• Evaluate image quality and adjust settings to achieve diagnostic-quality radiographs.
• Document imaging procedures in the patient health record and VA systems.
• Coordinate with ordering providers and clinic staff to ensure timely imaging orders.
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
