Job summary

Akicita Federal is hiring a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging for Veterans served by the VA New Jersey Health Care System at the Toms River CBOC in Toms River, NJ. You will perform CT and diagnostic radiologic examinations, operate CT equipment, and ensure patient safety and accurate documentation in the EHR.

Applicants should have ARRT CT certification, VA facility experience, and strong references.

Qualifications

• ARRT CT certification (advanced) required or equivalent.
• Experience in VA or federal healthcare settings preferred.
• Familiarity with VA electronic health record systems (VistA or Cerner).
• Strong imaging quality focus with attention to radiation safety.
• Verifiable references and clean malpractice history required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT and diagnostic radiologic imaging examinations per VA standards.
• Operate and maintain CT scanning equipment; ensure calibration and safety checks.
• Position patients safely to obtain optimal images while minimizing exposure.
• Review orders, assess patient history, adapt technique as clinically appropriate.
• Document procedures and parameters in the EHR.
• Coordinate with radiologists and staff to prioritize studies and communicate findings.
• Maintain a clean, infection-controlled imaging environment.
