Job summary

Peninsula Agency on Aging seeks an Options Counselor for the VDC Program in Newport News to advise veterans and caregivers on available services supporting aging in place. You will screen, assess, provide options counseling, and develop care/service plans for eligible veterans.

The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, with a competitive hourly rate and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid leave, life insurance, a 403b plan, and an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, or related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Advise veterans and/or caregivers of services and resources to support aging in place.
• Screen and complete assessments; provide options counseling.
• Develop comprehensive plans of care/service plans for veterans.
