Job summary

The Department of Commerce in West Palm Beach is seeking a Government Operations Consultant II serving as Local Veterans' Employment Representative (LVER). The role focuses on assisting veterans with employment services and advocating for veteran hiring in the local business community.

You will join the Business Services Team to coordinate veteran outreach, ensure compliance with Job for Veterans State Grant regulations, and provide training to Career Center staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of applicable veteran employment regulations, Veteran Program Letters, and federal/state veterans programs.
• Knowledge of veterans' preference laws and re-employment rights.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Skilled in group presentations, workshop instruction, and facilitation.
• Ability to communicate effectively, provide excellent customer service, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterans with employment services and career planning.
• Develop service delivery strategies to improve veteran outreach.
• Advocate for veteran hiring within the business community.
• Coordinate veteran-specific outreach with the Local Veterans' Employment Representative team.
• Ensure compliance with federal Job for Veterans State Grant regulations.
• Provide training to Career Center staff on veteran programs.
