Job summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) seeks a Program Manager to oversee the Veterans Services team, coordinating homeless veterans housing, VA benefits access, and case management. The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and cross‑agency collaboration.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Veteran Services, you will recruit, supervise and develop staff while ensuring accurate data reporting and compliance with program requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a human service or related field or certification in a mental health specialty preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience providing psychosocial rehabilitative service to a disabled population plus supervisory/leadership experience.
• Veteran status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of Veteran Services to recruit, hire, supervise, train, direct, evaluate, reward, discipline and terminate assigned staff.
• Support program documentation standards of staff in accordance with MHALA and SSVF.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and yearly data reporting with accurate submissions.
• Oversee subcontracts, productivity and Quality Assurance.
• Outreach to identify homeless Veteran families with veteran organizations and housing resources.
• Provide services to military veterans and their families, including case management and housing support.
• Participate in team and funding meetings; lead day-to-day operations of the team as needed.
• Maintain professional development and stay current with housing program requirements.
