Job summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) seeks a Veterans Outreach Specialist to identify and assist homeless and at‑risk veterans and families with services through the Military Resource Center. The role uses psychosocial rehab models and requires strong community outreach.

Salary ranges from $24 to $25 per hour for 35 hours per week, with compensation based on experience. Under the supervision of the Program Manager, you will conduct outreach, link resources, and coordinate with housing

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of providing psychiatric rehabilitation services to a disabled/low income and/or homeless population required.
• Veterans encouraged to apply.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assist veterans and families with accessing services and resources.
• Outreach to homeless veterans located in housing, streets, referrals, etc.
• Coordinate eligibility prescreening and enrollment with the team.
• Maintain records and documentation for program compliance and HMIS entry.
