Job summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) seeks a Veterans Outreach Specialist to identify and assist homeless and at-risk veterans and families with accessing services through the Military Resource Center, using the psychosocial rehabilitation model.

Under supervision of the Program Manager, you will outreach to housing, shelters, and community sites, coordinate screening for eligibility, and connect veterans to housing, benefits, health care, and entitlements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
• Experience in psychiatric rehabilitation or serving homeless populations is valued.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assist homeless and at-risk veterans and families.
• Outreach to veterans in housing, streets, and shelters.
• Screen for eligibility and coordinate intake with case management.
