Job summary

Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare System seeks an Occupational Therapist for the Home Based Primary Care program. The OT will evaluate patient function and safety in home settings and provide independent therapy to improve ADL/IADL performance and community participation.

Required NBCOT certification and state licensure, with strong clinical reasoning and skills in orthoses and adaptive equipment. Applicants must be able to work within an interdisciplinary VA team in the Canton area.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OT principles and techniques based on current clinical standards.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to use critical analysis and clinical reasoning to solve complex problems.
• Skill in procuring and modifying orthoses, splints, and adaptive equipment for ADLs.
• Ability to conduct OT in-service and clinical training.

Responsibilities

• OTs assess functional status and safety in home and community settings and plan interventions.
• Provide independent OT services and select appropriate therapies across ADL, IADL, work and play.
• Demonstrate professional OT theories and apply them using activity analysis and therapeutic procedures.
