Job summary

U.S.VETS Long Beach seeks a Development & Communications Manager to lead local fundraising, marketing and community engagement that sustain veterans and their families. You'll work closely with national development leadership, manage donor relationships and community partnerships, and plan signature events and campaigns.

This is a hands-on, strategic role requiring storytelling, metrics, and teamwork in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years nonprofit fundraising experience including events, corporate and individual giving.
• Demonstrated success securing donor investments and sponsorships.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with donor databases (Blackbaud preferred) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead site fundraising initiatives to exceed annual goals of approximately $875K–$900K.
• Build and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and community organizations.
• Plan and execute signature fundraising events and sponsorship campaigns.
• Collaborate with national development leadership on integrated fundraising strategies.
• Represent the organization in the community through presentations, partnerships, and volunteer engagement.
• Track donor engagement and fundraising activity using donor databases.
