Job summary

HMR Veterans Services in Tyler, TX is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead the maintenance department and ensure safe, compliant facilities for veteran residents. You will oversee building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and vendor relationships to keep the community functional and welcoming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in maintenance, plant operations, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, building maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and oversee all Maintenance Department operations.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and facility regulations.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain building systems, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
• Oversee repairs and maintenance related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety systems.
• Manage department schedules, projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance and safety concerns.
• Support emergency preparedness efforts and respond to facility emergencies as needed.
• Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance staff to ensure high performance and accountability.
