South Carolina Legal Services is seeking an LSV-H staff attorney to provide civil litigation representation to veterans across South Carolina. The attorney will handle assignments from the Managing Attorney and work under supervision as training progresses.

The role requires a J.D. from an accredited law school and SC Bar admission, with responsibilities including research, pleadings, motions, and appeals, plus court appearances and client communication.

Qualifications

• Requires a J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the South Carolina Bar.
• Knowledge of civil procedure, litigation rules, and appellate practice.
• Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills.

Responsabilités

• Provides representation to veterans in civil matters within South Carolina.
• Maintains a caseload and performs legal research; prepares memoranda, pleadings, discovery, motions, and appeals.
• Negotiates resolutions with opposing parties and represents clients in state and federal courts.
• Supervises paralegals as needed and coordinates with partner agencies and community advocates.
