Job summary

COA Network Inc. in Columbia, SC, is seeking an experienced civil defense attorney to join our established litigation defense practice. You will draft pleadings, motions, and discovery, and defend civil matters for retail and hospitality clients.

You will conduct legal research, develop litigation strategies, and communicate with clients and opposing counsel, contributing to firm growth across South Carolina.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to the South Carolina Bar.
• Federal District Court of South Carolina admission preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Provide effective legal counsel in the defense of civil disputes in South Carolina.
• Handle diverse and challenging cases for retail and hospitality clients.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with client goals.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
• Contribute to the growth of the firm and expansion of its presence throughout South Carolina.
• Write reports and develop budgets.

Experience you will need:

• Excellent analytical, writing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
