Job summary

Wilmington VA Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the professional care team in providing care across preventative, acute, sub-acute, chronic and hospice settings. You will support licensed staff, document care, and respond to emergent situations under supervision.

Successful candidates will have examples of KSAs such as assisting in full nursing care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a busy clinical environment with rotating shifts to cover 24/7

Qualifications

• Six months general experience required.
• Demonstrated KSAs: ability to assist in full range of nursing care.
• English language proficiency required; must communicate with patients and team.

Responsibilities

• Provide wide range of patient personal care, diagnostics, treatments and charting.
• Deliver safe, individualized nursing care under supervision.
• Document care, observations, and responses in appropriate forms.
• Administer tracheostomy care, including suctioning.
• Monitor and document patient intake and output; report deviations promptly.
• Participate in Treatment Planning Meetings and care planning.
