Competenze

• Six months of general experience
• English language proficiency in accordance with VA standards
• KSAs demonstrating ability to provide patient care, observe status, and communicate effectively
• Evidence or education meeting basic NA requirements as outlined by VA Qualification Standards

• Provide education and counseling to veterans to promote health literacy and decision-making
• Assist with medication reminders and basic administration within scope
• Offer emotional support and advocate for veterans' needs
• Monitor veterans, observe condition changes, report to nursing staff promptly
• Perform vital signs and basic nursing procedures as directed by RN or LPN
• Maintain infection control and a safe environment; document care and progress

Formazione

Two years of education above high school with courses related to nursing care

Completion of an intensive - specialized - occupation-related training course of study or program of less than one year as a NA

Bachelor's degree with 24 credit hours of health care related courses or a bachelor's degree
