Job summary

VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is seeking a Social Worker for the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP). The incumbent will join the BHIP team to perform biopsychosocial assessments, determine DSM diagnoses, and provide behavioral health interventions to veterans.

The role requires MSW from an accredited program, state licensure, and ability to work within the VA system. Telework is not specified; position appears on-site with the VA network.

Qualifications

• Must meet basic requirements within 30 days of closing date.
• U.S. citizenship required; English proficiency in speaking and writing.
• Master's in social work from CSWE-accredited school is required.
• Must be licensed/certified by a state to independently practice social work.
• For GS-11, licensure/certification is required; for GS-9, licensure may be waived with documented prerequisites.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans with veterans and families.
• Coordinate community-based and VA program services; provide information and referrals.
• Identify high-risk veterans and follow suicide prevention protocols.
• Provide crisis intervention and facilitate family conferences.
• Consult with staff on psychosocial needs and treatment adherence.
