Job summary

Town of Manchester seeks a Municipal Veterans Representative to serve as the central advocate and liaison for veterans, service members, and eligible dependents. The role delivers benefits counseling, navigates federal/state programs, and maintains service records.

The incumbent will coordinate referrals, conduct intake assessments, and report monthly metrics while ensuring privacy and compliance in all processes.

Qualifications

• Preferred Associate degree or higher in human services, social work, public administration, or related discipline.
• Mandatory CT DVA training annually per state law.
• Mandatory NACVSO accreditation or ability to complete course after employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide benefits counseling for veterans and dependents, including federal and state programs.
• Coordinate referrals to Manchester social services and veterans organizations.
• Maintain accurate case records and timely follow-ups.
