Job summary

Moore County seeks a competent paraprofessional to assist in obtaining veteran benefits, file claims, and prepare appeal forms. The role acts as the applicant's representative with federal and state agencies, exercising independent judgment under the supervision of the Veterans Services Director.

The ideal candidate has strong office practices, communication, and organizational skills, with capability to work independently and maintain records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with four (4) years in veteran’s services, human services, or administrative work
• Associate Degree with two (2) years in veteran’s services, human services, or administrative work
• Bachelor’s Degree preferably with major in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field

Responsibilities

• Assist in obtaining benefits and filing claims
• Complete forms for appeals
• Serve as applicant’s representative with federal and state agencies in veteran services and benefits
• Exhibit independent judgment and initiative under supervision of the Veterans Services Director
