Job summary

Guilford County Government seeks a Veterans Services Assistant to help veterans and dependents apply for educational, medical, pension, life insurance, and burial benefits. Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Administrative Office Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
• Two years of progressively responsible administrative or office management experience.
• Excellent computer experience and typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Interviews clients to collect information for claims and applications.
• Prepares applications and submits to VA via NC Division of Veterans Affairs.
• Maintains files and prepares monthly activity reports.
• Contacts SSA, ESOs, VA hospitals, and other agencies for case information.
• Schedules appointments and assists with document gathering and processing.
