Job summary

Binghamton University is seeking a motivated individual to assist in the daily operations of the Office of the Dean of Students and to support military-affiliated students throughout their academic journey.

This role will work closely with the Director of Veteran and Military Services, serving as a point of contact for student veterans, active-duty service members, National Guard, reservists, and dependents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional or paraprofessional work experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in higher education, student affairs, veterans' services, public administration, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a School Certifying Official (SCO).
• Assist military-affiliated students with benefits, scholarships, registering for classes, and answering questions.
• Liaise between military-affiliated students and on-campus offices (financial aid, admissions, advising, counseling, student affairs).
• Support mandated reporting to federal, state and SUNY entities.
• Coordinate a programming schedule for the on-campus military-affiliated community.
• Maintain a consistent on-campus office presence.
• Represent the office at events across the university and community.
• Support the Director with administrative responsibilities.
