Job summary

Kia America, Inc. operates a Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) in partnership with Kia Retailers, offering skilled Veterans a pathway to become Kia Service Technicians.

The program supports one-year of competency-based apprenticeship with GI Bill housing allowances and access to tools, equipment, vehicles, and training necessary for certification. Participants join full-time at a participating Kia Retailer and complete diagnostics and repairs using Kia strategies.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge
• Valid Driver's License from any state with a clean driving record
• Experience in a technical / mechanical field is required
• Must be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests in accordance with Kia and Retailer policies and procedures
• Test drive vehicles and analyze, diagnose, and repair components using Kia diagnostic strategies, equipment and tools
• Perform services and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote a positive customer experience
