Job summary

Kia America, Inc. through the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) offers veterans a path to become Kia Certified Service Technicians.

Apprenticeships are conducted at independently owned and operated Kia Retailers, with employment at the retailer upon completion. The program includes a one-year competency-based apprenticeship, GI Bill benefits, and access to training and tools to achieve certification as a Kia Service Technician.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge is required.
• Valid Driver's License from any state with a clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical/mechanical field is required.
• Must be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests per Kia and Retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose components using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools.
• Perform services and repairs in a timely manner while communicating with shop foreman and service advisor to ensure customer satisfaction.
