Job summary

Veterans Leadership Program in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Veteran Assistant under the Low Demand Program to create a welcoming, caring, and professional atmosphere for clients and assist Veterans transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing.

The role involves monitoring clients, maintaining confidentiality, documenting observations, coordinating intake with the Service Navigator, and inputting data into the EHR using Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma required.
• First Aid-CPR preferred.
• De-escalation training preferred.
• FBI, Act 33 and 34 clearances required/preferred as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor one or more assigned clients on a designated unit for a specified time.
• Maintain client confidentiality.
• Monitor for signs of escalating behaviors.
• Provide handoff communications to the next Veteran Assistant.
• Document observations in monitoring tools/forms/Client record.
• Create and maintain a professional, caring client experience.
• Respond to inquiries and refer to appropriate personnel.
• Assist intake process by scheduling, inputting information into EHR, and notifying Service Navigator of intakes.
• Document all encounters in the organizational EHR.
