Job summary

NYC Department of Veterans’ Services is seeking a Community Coordinator to manage a caseload of homeless veterans and work with the Housing & Support Services unit to secure safe, affordable housing. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in community work or related duties.

Responsibilities

• Manage an ongoing caseload of homeless/housing insecure veteran clients.
• Present housing needs to DVS staff and external partners for assistance.
• Assist clients through each housing step including plan development, interviews, applications, and coordinating with landlords and shelters.
• Collaborate with interagency partners to move veterans through the housing process.
• Provide cross-team support for Aftercare Services and Veteran Resource Centers.
