Job summary

The Virginia Department of Veterans Services is seeking an Activities Assistant for the Sitter-Barfoot Veterans Care Center. You will support approved therapeutic recreation programs for veteran residents, including Alzheimer/dementia residents.

You will assist the Activities Director and Activities Coordinator, coordinating all activities with other departments and helping document residents' abilities and participation in group activities.

Qualifications

• Experience providing activities programming preferably in a long term care or adult geriatric setting.
• Must possess the physical ability to turn, bend and lift without restrictions.
• Ability to read, write and communicate ideas.
