Job summary

Fort Bend County's Veterans Service Office seeks an Assistant Veteran Services Officer to assist Veterans with benefits, provide outreach, and coordinate observances. You will travel to county locations and represent the office at speaking engagements to educate Veterans and their spouses on benefits.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, military service, proficiency with VBMS and VetPro, and strong presentation and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years related experience and four years military service with honorable discharge preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, VBMS, and VetPro.

Responsibilities

• Meet with Veterans to assess needs, eligibilities, and required steps.
• Advocate for Veterans with service and admin agencies including VA and TVC.
• Promote Veterans Service Office services to local Veterans groups through outreach.
