Job summary

Kia of Dartmouth in Dartmouth, MA, is seeking military veterans with mechanical experience who want to begin a rewarding career as an Automotive Service Technician through the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP).

The one-year, competency-based apprenticeship is GI Bill approved and leads to Kia Service Technician certification, with full-time work and access to training, tools, and Monthly Housing Allowance during the program.

Qualifications

• Must have strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with automotive diagnostics and repairs preferred.
• Willingness to undergo background check and drug screening.
• Prior Military Veteran status is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines, transmissions, steering, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs using Kia procedures and equipment.
• Complete repair orders and warranty documentation per Kia dealership policies.
• Test drive vehicles and verify repair quality with diagnostic tools.
• Communicate with service advisors and foremen to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment following safety procedures.
