Job summary

KIA Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) in Branford, CT seeks military veterans with mechanical experience to begin a career as an Automotive Service Technician. Qualifications

• Honorable discharge from U.S. military service.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Prior mechanical or technical field experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment.
• Willingness to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles using Kia procedures and equipment.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Complete repair orders and warranty documentation per Kia/dealership policies.
• Test drive vehicles and verify repair quality with diagnostic tools.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and shop foremen to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment following safety procedures.
