Job summary

Kia of Dartmouth in Dartmouth, MA, is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience who want to start a rewarding career as an Automotive Service Technician. This is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), a structured GI Bill®-approved apprenticeship designed to lead to Kia Service Technician certification.

VTAP offers full-time work at a participating Kia dealership while providing training, tools, and support to develop into highly skilled technicians.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment; willingness to complete background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles using Kia procedures and equipment.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Complete repair orders and warranty documentation per Kia and dealership policies.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repair quality with appropriate tools.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and shop foremen to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area following dealership safety procedures.
