Job summary

West Broad Kia in Richmond, VA, is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience who want to become Automotive Service Technicians. This position is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), offering hands-on dealership experience and a one-year apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification.

Eligible Veterans can receive a Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) during their apprenticeship. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing Kia vehicles and effective communication with team members.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and shop foremen.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Mechanical or technical field experience

Familiarity with diagnostic tools

Education

Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
