Job summary

Rockwall Kia in Texas seeks Military Veterans for the Automotive Service Technician role under the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP). This full-time position offers hands-on training while pursuing Kia Service Technician certification through a one-year, GI Bill®-approved apprenticeship. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing Kia vehicles and ensuring a positive customer experience. Candidates need an Honorable Discharge, valid driver’s license, and prior mechanical experience. Monthly Housing Allowance is available for eligible Veterans during the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines and transmissions.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs using Kia diagnostic procedures.
• Complete repair orders and warranty documentation according to policies.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repair quality using diagnostic tools.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment

Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field
