Job summary

Kia Retailers are offering skilled military Veterans the opportunity to begin a career as a Kia Certified Service Technician through the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP). This one-year, competency-based program leads to Kia Service Technician certification with full-time employment at a participating Kia Retailer.

The VTAP provides specialized training, access to tools and vehicles, and potential GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Requires honorable discharge
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Experience in a technical/mechanical field
• Willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests per Kia and retailer policies
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose using Kia diagnostic strategies and tools
• Communicate with shop foreman and service advisor to promote a great customer experience
