CityVet Chevy Chase is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians by preparing patients for surgery, monitoring post-op patients, and restraining animals during exams. The role emphasizes accurate sample collection, testing, and clear client communication to ensure optimal care.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least 18 years old, and 1 year of veterinary industry experience. Lift 50 lbs and perform routine duties daily.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians - prep patients for surgery, monitor post-op, restrain animals during exams
• Obtain Samples - gather stool, blood, and other samples for testing
• Testing - test the samples and help interpret results
• Administer Medications - give prescribed meds, anesthesia, vaccines per DVM plan
• Client Communication - obtain medical information from clients and instruct on care
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team as needed
