Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding laboratory tests and submission requirements.
• Provide guidance on basic specimen handling, labeling, packaging, temperature considerations and safety protocols.
• Identify customer needs and route complex questions to appropriate lab staff.
• Receive, verify, and log specimens with proper documentation and chain of custody.
• Review submission forms for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain customer service logs and communication records.
• Process billing information and routine correspondence.
• Monitor general email inboxes and lab phone lines.
• Maintain inventory of front-office supplies and submission materials.
• Ensure compliance with legal regulations and university/lab policies.
• Identify and correct issues with specimen integrity or incomplete documentation.
