Job summary

National Veterinary Associates (NVA) externship opportunities provide veterinary students with hands-on experience in general practice settings across the United States. Students work with supervising veterinarians to gain exposure in histories, exams, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgery, while building communication skills with teams and clients.

Most externships range two to eight weeks, with eligible students receiving a travel/living expense stipend.

Qualifications

• Vet students participate in externships to gain clinical experience.
• Opportunity to gain hands-on experience gathering histories, performing exams, and creating treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Assists with or performs diagnostics and dentistry services.
• Observes or participates in surgical procedures.
