Job summary
Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital in Lawrence, KS offers a comprehensive externship experience for veterinary students within a collaborative five-doctor / three-RVT team. Externs will observe wellness visits, diagnostic workups for sick pets, and routine surgical and dentistry cases while gaining hands-on client communication experience.
Externs may participate in emergency surgeries and attend weekly rounds to discuss challenging cases with the veterinary team.
Qualifications
- Open to all veterinary students, regardless of class year.
- Eligible for travel/living expense stipend if in clinical portion.
Responsibilities
- Observe wellness appointments, diagnostic workups for sick pets, routine surgical and dentistry cases.
- Spend time in exam rooms with clients to practice communication skills and attend weekly rounds discussing challenging cases.
