Job summary

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Portland, OR seeks an Experienced Veterinary Assistant Level 2 to join our Emergency and Critical Care team. You will provide emergency nursing care to patients under the attending DVM's orders, from triage to discharge, transfer, or euthanasia, while ensuring compassionate client service.

The position offers a 3/4 rotating schedule with 10-hour shifts and an included weekend day.

Qualifications

• 1+ year working as a veterinary assistant, or a combination of experience in the veterinary field and current enrollment in an AVMA accredited tech program.
• Preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience.
• Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.

Responsibilities

• Triage to treatments, discharge, transfer, or euthanasia under attending DVM orders.
• Keep hospital and kennels clean and organized.
• Assist doctors (DVMs) and technicians as needed.
