Job summary

The Humane Society of Summit County is accepting applications for part-time and full-time Veterinary Assistant positions. This role supports the Shelter and MABEL unit with a range of duties including surgeries, medical care, blood draws, vaccinations, and daily medications under the veterinarian's direction.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of related work experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be 18+. Euthanasia certification training is provided.

Description

The Humane Society of Summit County is accepting applications for part-time and full-time Veterinary Assistant positions. This person will provide support to the Shelter and MABEL (mobile veterinary unit) Veterinarian and staff with a variety of duties and animal care tasks. The primary role of this position will be assisting in surgeries, medical clean-up and daily medication of animals. Other responsibilities this job will have is assisting with blood draws, vaccinations, performing fecal and urinalysis, euthanasia and other associated tasks under the direction of the Shelter and MABEL (mobile veterinary unit) Veterinarian.

Hours

Part-time to full-time hours available. The schedule may vary week to week.

Weekend Availability is required. Holiday coverage will be necessary but will rotate through medical team.
